How I Ship Full-Stack Web Apps as a Vibe Coder Using Claude Code and Modern Cloud

For the past year, my software development approach has fundamentally shifted. Rather than writing boilerplate infrastructure line by line, I operate as an AI-native builder—frequently described today as a "vibe coder." My focus is simple: turning functional ideas into live, production-ready web software at rapid execution speed. My Working Stack and Tooling To maintain high development velocity without sacrificing reliability, I rely on a concrete modern workflow: AI-A...

Forum or group chat: where should a small community actually live?

There's a conversation that keeps resurfacing in the communities we follow, and it isn't the usual "which platform should I pick" thread. It's about format . People keep saying they miss forums. Someone says not everything needs to be a chat server. Another person argues that old-school forums were simply better than social media, and a lot of people agree. A post refusing to accept the line "why start a forum, nobody's going to use it" gets far more support than its author expected. At t...

Node.js Failure Alerting: Polling Logs, Errors, and 5xx for Course Import Cron Jobs

A low-noise watchdog should alert on missing progress, then attach error evidence. Counting every exception or 5xx response sounds simpler, but it answers the wrong question for a scheduled edtech import: did something complain, or did the expected student results actually arrive? TL;DR: poll a durable progress record, require two consecutive missed deadlines, and use logs and errors to explain the alert rather than trigger it. Trigger Signal quality Noise risk Best fit ...

Stop babysitting your AI coding agent. Let it text you.

Agentic coding has a dirty little secret: you spend half the time watching the agent work. You give it a task. It plans, edits five files, runs the tests... then stops to ask "PostgreSQL or SQLite?" You're in the kitchen. Ten minutes gone, for a one-word answer. The fix is simple: let the agent text you. What that looks like You give Cortex AI IDE a task and walk away. Your phone buzzes on Telegram: Cortex needs your answer Which database should the app use...

Property Report Text Moderation: API or Chat Completions Cost Trade-offs Explained

Short answer: For property-management content, compare a dedicated moderation API with a general chat-completions runtime by queue SLO, escalation rate, and portability before comparing token cost; use the path that keeps uncertain reports reviewable without binding the policy to one provider. A moderation endpoint and a general chat model should not be compared by headline price alone. For property-management reports, the useful comparison is how much predictable review capacity each path c...

Ask HN: How bad is AI hurting recruitment, from both sides?

Hi Folks, Having been on the applicant side of hiring late, I've notice a lot of similar posts from people in the same situation (frequency illusion ?), due to the volume of applications they are unsure their CV is reviewed by human eyes. Separately, I've started reaching out to hiring managers, recruiters, agencies etc to get their input. There has been a common thread in their response, AI is used to review and "grade" submissions but its not uncommon for lower graded submissions to actually ...

Why it is foolish to think AI can't write like humans

Last I counted there were 50+ AI text detectors, not including the humanizers that also sell AI detection (thank you hypocrisy). What's even more surprising is the AI built meters and percentage scores they provide when you enter a text. A load of bollocks if you ask me. Working on AI linguistics if there is something you learn, anything is possible with the right technique and framework. I'm not sure what is more concerning the display of such banality or the actual belief in them, nonetheless,...

Ask HN: What are your creative context bombs to make AI agents pay?

I just read this - https://agentic.tracebit.com/factory/ And wondered for a while that this almost exactly what we were up to when script kiddies began to probe all services/servers in order to defend, buy time, and make them at least pay. The AI agents are more powerful and smarter than the python script bots.. What are your creative ideas to tarot these AI attackers? How could one make it harder/impractical/confusing for an AI agent to grab any service/data intended for a human? Comments U...
