Pennsylvania will require labels on AI-generated ads

On Thursday, Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro signed the Artificial Intelligence Deceptive Advertising Act into law, requiring disclosures on AI-generated ads. The law requires any ad - whether it's a still image, video, audio, or text - that "has been significantly modified or generated by artificial intelligence" to include a label in the same format as […]

Understanding Semantic Anti‑Spam vs. Keyword Filters for Telegram Group Admins

Introduction Running a Telegram community means constantly battling unwanted content: promotional links, phishing attempts, repeated nonsense, and language‑specific abuse. The classic defense—keyword filters—relies on a static list of banned words or patterns. While easy to set up, keyword filters become brittle quickly, generate false positives, and are easy for spammers to evade with minor text variations. Semantic anti‑spam, powered by large language models (LLMs), evaluates the meani...

Endurecer servidores mcp stdio

How to Autofill PDF Forms with AI

I've spent the last few months building an AI tool that fills PDF forms from a user's own documents (a passport, a W-2, a spreadsheet, or just a few typed sentences). The first version was the obvious one: send the PDF to an LLM and ask it to fill the form. It didn't work. This post covers what did work, with code, so you can build your own. Full disclosure: the tool is Simplifier . Everything below works with any stack and any LLM. The core idea: split "understanding" from ...

Cloud Pub/Sub Dead-Letter Recovery for Node.js Weekly Support Digests

Cloud Pub/Sub Dead-Letter Recovery for Node.js Weekly Support Digests Short answer: for Google Cloud Pub/Sub dead-letter retries versus an AWS SQS DLQ, choose the queue whose retention, delivery attempts, and replay permissions fit the weekly deadline, then keep idempotency and failure classification in the Node.js worker. Start with the recovery window. Recovery needs a clock. That window is the time between a failed active-customer digest and the point where the support team can...

sloth-tidy: a local AI that tidies your messy folder (and lets you undo it)

This is a submission for the Hacktoberfest Open-Source AI Challenge Week 3: Slow and Steady What I Built My Downloads folder is a museum of good intentions: IMG_0509.png , final_FINAL_v3.md , a pile of WhatsApp Image 2026-09-23 at 9.12.19 PM.png , and an invoice I keep meaning to deal with. Sorting it by hand is exactly the kind of chore I put off forever. sloth-tidy is a lazy, local, undoable file tidier. You point it at a folder. A small open-weight model running on ...

Metal PCB and PCBA Manufacturing: A Practical Guide to Materials, Assembly, and Global Sourcing

As electronic products become more compact and powerful, manufacturers face a growing challenge: how to manage heat while maintaining reliable electrical performance. This is particularly important in LED lighting, industrial electronics, automotive systems, and power conversion equipment, where components can generate significant heat during operation. Metal printed circuit boards (metal PCBs) provide one approach to this challenge. By incorporating a metal base into the board structure, the...

46 views, 0 sales, and probably 0 readers: what UTM links told me that my dashboard couldn't

Five days ago I started reading my analytics dashboard every morning, which is what you do when you have published something and nobody has bought it. The number went up. Day one, 5 views. Day two, 10. Day three, 19. Day four, 11. Today, 1. Forty-six views in total, zero sales, zero per cent conversion. For about a day I treated that as a conversion problem. Forty-six people had arrived and none of them had bought, so the obvious suspects were the price, the page, the screenshots. I had a ...

Lining up recorded voice callouts with a beat in a boxing training app

I work on FightNome. This post is about a feature of our own app. FightNome calls strikes out loud while you shadowbox or work pads. You hear "jab", you throw a jab. For that to feel right, the word has to land on the beat itself. Here's how we think about that problem, in plain terms. The beat grid Everything hangs off the tempo. One beat lasts 60000 / BPM milliseconds. Our workouts run from 74 to 128 BPM, so the spacing between beats changes a lot: BPM Beat leng...

Show HN: Loböle, open-source parametric CAD that AI agents can drive

I could never get used to FreeCAD, so I built my own. It turns out Claude is really good at using it. Loböle is a parametric B-Rep CAD built on OpenCASCADE and Vulkan, with sketches, assemblies, drawings, FEM and CAM. The GUI, Python scripts and AI agents all go through the same commands, so an agent can do anything you can in the GUI. The engine, watch and bicycle in the README were each built by Claude writing a script against it. Comments URL: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=5022307...
