Do trials work for SaaS products?

Simple question. Looking for feedback. I just implemented a simple trial system: an email capture (no CC required) and a 7-day key is minted. Is 7 days enough? Should it be 30 days? Does anyone with trial options for their product see conversions from trials? FYI, the main service is free forever; the paid upsell is only for added features. Thanks.

Launching my first SaaS. How did you get your first paying customers?

TL;DR: I’m building a SaaS after running a handmade crafts business. I’m looking for something easier to manage day-to-day while keeping my full-time job. I’ve set a launch deadline. The concept is simple: a personal budget management SaaS. The goal isn't to get rich, but to land my first French customers. Development isn't an issue, but I lack SaaS marketing knowledge. Any advice? ---- After running a handmade crafts business alongside my day job for two and a half years, I wanted a new ch...

About to launch? Stop being afraid of “being late”

You’re not an investor: the timing of your entry isn’t that important. What matters is HOW you enter the market. Many of you are afraid of arriving too late, missing the wave, and so on… And this anxiety either paralyzes you or makes you rush things. You’re not an investor. you’re an entrepreneur. Forget the When, focus on the How.

If you’re stuck at 5 users, here is your 30-day playbook.

Building the app isn’t the hard part anymore, distribution is. ( Probably my fav line these days to start a topic) If you've launched an app and you're currently sitting on ~5 users, here is a dead simple, 100% free strategy to execute for the next 30 days to hit your first 1,000 installs. The Strategy: 1 Raw Video Per Day Record one video a day talking directly to the camera about your product. Tell the story of why you built it. Break down your customer’s exact pain points and how...

What actually got you your first 10 paying customers? No BS, what actually works.

Solo founder here, building a B2B SaaS for small business owners at $29/month. I've probably watched around 50 YouTube videos on how to get your first paying customers. Every single YouTube video felt like the same recycled advice dressed up differently, leading up to a course. So I am coming here instead, what actually got you your first 10 paying users? Did you post on Reddit and it somehow worked? Did you run Meta ads and actually break even? Did you find a Facebook group that actually ...

Why does the same payout provider perform differently across corridors?

Running stablecoin payouts into three corridors from the same provider and the performance variance is wider than I expected. One corridor consistently credits the beneficiary within minutes. Another averages six to eight hours. sometimes minutes, sometimes next business day, and we cannot tell whether the variance is coming from the provider's liquidity depth on that corridor, the local payout partner they route through, or the beneficiary bank's own processing and risk posture. The effect...

99% (made up %) of SaaS companies fail because they can’t talk to humans

Disclaimer: This was NOT AI generated. Not even a rough draft. This is your sign to put down Claude, loveable, VsCode (for the devs still in the thick of it). I see it every damn day, someone say “How do I get my first user?” It’s so infuriating because obviously you built something not for you and not for anyone else because if you did, you’d be using it or the person you built it for would be using it. But, alas, let’s say you’ve built something and didn’t have a target. You can still b...

What was the first sign that your SaaS was actually worth continuing with?

I’m launching my SaaS soon, and throughout the build I’ve kept moving between believing strongly in the idea, doubting it, then believing in it again. First-time founders BUILD. Second-time founders MARKET.

Building is exhilarating, but the most important part is not, and I think that's one of the main reasons first-time founders fall into the trap of over-building something that nobody is going to pay for. Many first-time founders heavily rely on a magical Product-led Growth that is pure fantasy. Active sales, spending hours talking to customers, and feedback loops are heavily underestimated to a point it becomes a bigtime learning [link] &#...

One month ago I got 72$MRR, today i have 328.16$MRR (what i've changed)

Hi ! One month ago I wrote a post saying i've reached 72$MRR. Now I am at 328$MRR (which is not a lot, but i'm happy). For context, my app is: helping musicians, beatmakers and artists to create visuals for their music. I am a developer so I spent nearly 3 years making the tool as good as possible and not marketing it. (which is a mistake but if you don't do it you'll never learn this). SaaS isn't a software business anymore, it's a marketing business

Even before the AI era it was hard to find something to build in SaaS that wasn't built 10 times over. Now it's much worse.
