Logitech’s new haptics-based gaming mouse is a little better and $20 more

The G Pro Superstrike mouse is one of Logitech's most interesting products. Unlike other gaming mice, it has haptic actuators beneath its two main buttons instead of mechanical switches, which decreases latency and allows for a custom click feel (the click can be super subtle, more jolty, or turned off entirely). The tech debuted in […]

Bernie Sanders proposes banning ‘superintelligence’ and putting violators in prison

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) and Rep. Greg Casar (D-TX) have introduced new legislation that would ban anyone from developing artificial superintelligence - a technology the bill describes as capable of the "destruction or disempowerment of humanity," including by overthrowing the government. Under the Ban Artificial Superintelligence Act, AI leaders would face up to 20 years […]

Anthropic’s biolab made a discovery it’s comparing to Crispr

Anthropic says its AI Claude has "autonomously discovered" a new enzyme system similar to machinery behind the powerful gene-editing tool Crispr. It's the first result from Anthropic's newly-launched wet lab and an early test of Claude's usefulness for science as the company prepares to go public. The company says Claude found the enzyme system after […]

Data centers are black boxes, but California wants to change that

California Gov. Gavin Newsom signed a slate of bills on Monday that could finally give communities better data - and more say - on how data centers impact their electricity bills and water supply. As data centers invade a growing number of communities across the US, they've triggered protests over how the infrastructure underpinning AI […]

The old cybersecurity model is breaking

As concern over AI safety and rogue agents continue to make headlines, it’s no surprise that cybersecurity stocks are rising, or that investors are pouring massive amounts of capital into startups trying to build the next generation of security for an AI-native world. We’re even seeing companies like Instinct and Simile bring in nine-figure checks and valuations that wouldn’t have made sense a […]

Multiple Image Uploads in WPForms Lite: How I Built Multimage

WPForms Lite is one of the most popular free form builders in WordPress, but it has one gap that keeps coming up: there's no file upload field. If you want visitors to attach photos to a contact form, a support request, or a portfolio submission, the usual answer is "upgrade to Pro." I wanted a lighter answer for that one use case, so I built Multimage – Image Uploads for WPForms , a free plugin on WordPress.org that adds a Multi Image Upload field to the WPForms builder, Lite included. ...

Technical debt: why it appears and how to handle it systematically

Technical debt usually gets attention in two situations: when releases become painful, or when even a small change starts costing far more than it should. Until then, it is often treated as background noise: some dependencies are outdated, some areas have no tests, there are known bugs, documentation is weak, but overall the system still works. That is exactly why it becomes dangerous. Technical debt rarely arrives as one major event. It accumulates through a series of small decisions that lo...

Deploying Kubeflow as an Azure ML Alternative

Azure Machine Learning is Microsoft's cloud-native machine learning platform that provides experiment tracking, managed compute, pipelines, a model registry, and model serving as hosted services within the Azure ecosystem, but it ties teams to Azure-specific APIs, managed compute pricing, and Microsoft's tooling. Kubeflow is an open-source machine learning platform built on Kubernetes that provides self-hosted alternatives to Azure ML capabilities through modular, portable components, letting ...

Deploying Uptime Kuma - Self-Hosted Status Page and Monitoring Tool

Uptime Kuma is a self-hosted monitoring tool that tracks the availability of websites, APIs, TCP ports, DNS records, and other services. It provides a clean dashboard to display uptime metrics and trigger alerts through 90+ notification services, including email, Slack, and Telegram, when a service goes down or recovers. This guide deploys Uptime Kuma on a Linux server using Docker Compose behind a Traefik reverse proxy. By the end, you'll have a working Uptime Kuma instance with an active moni...

Gemini Enterprise Adds PandaDoc Workflows for Creating and Sending Contracts

Google's Gemini Enterprise now supports a PandaDoc connector that brings contract document search, creation and lifecycle actions into the Gemini workspace. The integration can support a practical workflow: start with a PandaDoc template, populate its fields, review the resulting document and send it for signature. For teams that repeatedly prepare client agreements, proposals or other standardized documents, the value is in reducing the manual handoff between an AI workspace and a contract pl...

What is an AI Agent Harness?

An AI agent harness is the software environment that surrounds an LLM to give it the tools and context needed to complete multi-step tasks. It turns your basic LLM calls to an operational system executing real world task. The model reasons through a prompt and decides the actions. The harness connects the agent it to the tools, systems, memory and execution environments needed to carry out those actions. In a AI harness Agents typically run in a loop: an LLM decides what to do, a tool e...

Ramen 2026.09.1: A New UI

I’ve just released Ramen 2026.09.1 , and this one feels like a pretty big step forward for the project. Most of the work in this release went into how Ramen looks and feels. I rebuilt the application UI, reworked the branch selector, fixed a number of terminal issues, and added a small feedback form so it’s easier to report things directly from the app. This release is less about adding a long list of new features and more about making the parts of Ramen that you use every day feel better...

My crypto backtest had a sharpe of 13.4. Then I added trading costs

I was not trying to prove a grand theory about crypto. I was testing simple, falsifiable baselines and looking for one result worth a second experiment. Cross-sectional reversal looked almost too clean: Sharpe 13.44 before transaction costs, with positive returns in 67 / 76 reported out-of-sample windows. Then I charged the same signal for the trading it required. At 10 bps per side, net Sharpe fell to -40.13 , and not one of those 76 windows remained positive. That is not a typo. I...
