Marvel's mishandling of its Blade reboot will likely go down as one of the studio's biggest mistakes. There was a great actor in place to play the vampire hunter (Mahershala Ali), and a promising director set to take over the reins (Bassam Tariq). In retrospect, though, the disappointing demise of Blade might not be such [β¦]
Two people were arrested in San Fransico while riding around in a Waymo robotaxi after the cab pulled over and called the cops on them. The riders were juveniles in possession of a loaded AR-style ghost gun and were taken to a juvenile hall. While the police report did not specify who was operating the [β¦]
Fusion startups are inking defense-related deals, reigniting the relationship between fusion and national security that might have gone dormant, but never completely disappeared.
Introduction
When I first started working with Power BI, I thought that importing data and creating charts was the main part of building a report. However, I quickly realized that before creating visuals, I needed to understand how my data was structured and how different tables were connected.
A Power BI report can contain beautiful dashboards, but if the underlying data model is poorly designed, the report can become difficult to maintain, DAX calculations can become unnecessarily compl...

There's a pattern you can watch happen on any reasonably popular site once a quarter. A team ships a new sign-up flow. They add reCAPTCHA. The bots keep coming. They upgrade to reCAPTCHA v3 invisible. The bots keep coming. They switch to hCaptcha for privacy reasons. The bots keep coming. They try Cloudflare Turnstile. The bots keep coming. Somewhere around month four, somebody writes a Slack message that reads "what if we just made it harder for real users ?"
This is not a story about a par...
Browser fingerprinting still works in 2026, but the useful techniques have shifted underneath everyone. Chrome's Privacy Sandbox has frozen or removed half the signals fingerprinting libraries depended on. Firefox and Safari added noise injection and API restrictions. Brave blocks attempts outright. Meanwhile headless browser frameworks have gotten dramatically better at spoofing what remains.
If you're building or maintaining a fingerprinting system, a lot of the advice from even two years ...

Codex feels slow, or it overthinks a trivial fix. The knob for that is reasoning effort , the Codex counterpart of extended thinking in Claude Code, controlled by the model_reasoning_effort key.
In short: set model_reasoning_effort = "high" (or another value) in ~/.codex/config.toml to change it permanently, use the -c flag for a single run, or /model during a session. The five levels are minimal , low , medium , high , ...
AI agent authentication is not one protocol. It is a stack.
An agent may need to discover a tool, prove which workload is running, authenticate an HTTP request, show that a user delegated authority, and leave enough evidence to reconstruct the action later. ARD, workload identity, Web Bot Auth, and OAuth solve different parts of that sequence. Treating any one of them as the whole answer creates an identity gap.
That distinction got sharper in 2026. Google announced the open Agentic R...
The fastest way to lose confidence in bot protection is not to miss a bot. It is to block a real customer.
A missed scraper costs bandwidth or content. A blocked customer costs a sale, a support escalation, and trust that took months to earn. Which is why a bot detection benchmark cannot stop at a single accuracy number. It has to answer a harder question: what happens to real people when this policy leaves the dashboard and starts controlling traffic?
A false positive is a bu...
A check refused a row I had just added. The row was a retired signing key, kept so that records signed under it can still be read. The check said:
refused scheme_outside_the_set scheme=keyed_sha256 schemes=["ed25519"]
The set of accepted schemes has exactly one element, and a published limits document says so in one sentence. The retired key's scheme is not that element. The check was right.

ESLint took 4.4 seconds to lint 445 TypeScript files. oxlint took 0.24. Turn on the type-aware rules that most projects actually want and ESLint climbs to 12 seconds, while oxlint, doing the type-aware pass too, finishes in under one. I went in expecting to write that oxlint was fast but limited. The limited part did not survive the test.
The setup
oxlint is the JavaScript and TypeScript linter from VoidZero, the company Evan You started after Vue and Vite, written in Rust and pi...
Honestly, I didn't expect this at all.
Around 4β5 days ago, I hosted Crowdwide mainly for testing.
It wasn't something I was actively promoting, and I definitely wasn't thinking about entering it into any contest.
Then @koda2026 found it on DEV.to.
He became the first person to actually try out Crowdwide and even reported some bugs he found while testing it.
And yes β some of those bugs were completely expected because the application wasn't actually ready for public account cre...
Whenever I ask an AI assistant to do a small task, it writes a quick Python script for me.
Convert an image.
Compress a PDF.
Convert a CSV to Excel.
The script works, I use it once, and then it disappears.
At some point I thought:
Why keep asking for one-off scripts when I could build my own reusable toolbox?
So I did.
Toolbox is a small Python CLI with utilities for the file and image tasks I keep needing β CSV β Excel conversion, image grayscale/blur/compress, and PDF...
