What I Built
Fall color doesn't show up on a fixed date. It comes when the nights turn cold, and every fall turns cold on its own schedule. Foliage maps can tell you that a region is "near peak". They can't tell you whether the red maples on your usual walk will be red on Saturday, or whether you should wait another week.
