OpenAI lawsuit: Microsoft's 'theft of labor' memo in the NYT case
In January 2023 a Microsoft director wrote an internal memo calling AI scraping "the largest theft of labor in human history". On September 17 a federal court unsealed the summary-judgment filings in the New York Times' lawsuit against OpenAI and Microsoft, and that line is now public, next to quotes from Satya Nadella, Greg Brockman and ChatGPT's own product lead.
