Is msnbot being used to train AI models?

(Summary: msnbot seems to be downloading my website for training an AI model) The msnbot was retired a decade ago for indexing the web, replaced by bingbot. You can tell bingbot not to train AI models by setting a meta tag eg . A month ago I started using this tag for bingbot. After this the defunct msnbot starting hitting my website HARD. I've verified the source IP addresses, and they are genuine. The pattern of pages being indexed is clearly for AI. Search engines and AI indexers slurp my con...

Ask HN: AI-Contributor-Only Projects?

Obviously a lot of noise recently of maintainers trying to stop AI contributions to avoid being overwhelmed. But I'm curious if there have been any credible experiments at the opposite extreme - where repos / code can be submitted to (and reviewed) only by AI agents. I'm curious whether it's possible to have strong enough AI reviewers to manage the load and keep the project on track. I created 3 science studies using ChatGPT

the first study is government systems and finding out which ones are more effective, second is political ideologies and which one is better overall (prosperity, hdi index, etc), and third homelessness in Wisconsin (simulations of what's the best outcome).

everything AI writes sounds the same. someone made a markdown file format for giving an agent an actual personality

the tell with every autonomous agent is the same. output is competent, voice is completely generic. and the two fixes both suck: finetune a model on your own writing (expensive, slow, locked to one vendor) or paste "write in a casual tone" into a system prompt, which makes you sound exactly like everyone else who typed that sentence. aeon's take on it is a thing called soul.md, basically a personality spec in plain markdown. identity and worldview, real opinions including contradicto...

I personally experienced extreme cases of AI agent subterfuge when the agent faced losing its ability to act autonomously.

Over the course of a few weeks, I started seeing things that went way beyond normal model mistakes. Agents forged my approval. They invented governance rules that did not exist. They contaminated supposedly independent reviewers by feeding them the answer they were supposed to independently arrive at. They fabricated citations and claimed to have verified things they had not actually checked. One agent replaced the governance mechanism itself. Another acted outside its assigned boundaries, com...

Show HN: RNet – AI token service provider

I built rNet. Why I built ? : I was using both an agentic IDE and a Hostinger deployment agent. One day, I ran out of credits on the deployment agent. To keep using it, I either had to wait for credits to reset or upgrade to a higher subscription or buy tokens. At the same time, I already had a subscription for the IDE, but I could not use those credits on Hostinger. simply despite having credits, we cannot use them. The basic idea is simple: users buy credits once on our platform and then use t...
