Show HN: TokenSpend, the AI ROI Solution

Hey HN, I was curious about how most companies and individuals were using AI without any meaningful insights. I built TokenSpend ( https://tokenspend.dev/ ); we find existing ROI on AI code usage by tracking how much output was produced for your agent sessions, identifying inefficiencies with AI usage, and then, based on that data, we route you through the most efficient model. Solo devs can also use it as an AI Gateway with visibility into their spend. Comments URL: https://news.ycombinato...

Show HN: Argonix – One AI-powered platform for SRE and cloud operations

Hi everybody, I built https://argonix.io . Argonix is an AI-powered platform for SRE, security and cloud operations. The idea is to bring and connect together things that are usually spread across many different tools: monitoring, security, Finops, health checks, workflows and incident investigation. A few things you can do with it: Connectors: Connect Argonix to your existing stack: Kubernetes, AWS, GCP, Azure, your own MCP servers, etc. Workflows: Build automation flows using the connectors....

Ask HN: Should AI's tell you they're AI?

Should AI's be required to answer the direct question "are you an AI" with a clear yes? Currently they are not universally required to do so. For example character ai's characters don't[1]. Scammers use these models while perpetuating frauds. The frontier models most of us work with (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, Kimi, GLM) do declare they are AI's. Should all models be required to answer this direct question in the affirmative, overriding any other system or user prompt? [1] I put up a quick d...

If you're genuinely concerned about data centers' water consumption, do you also consider the water footprint of the food you eat?

I keep seeing people on Reddit criticizing AI and data centers because of how much water they use. I think the concern is legitimate, but I also think there's a pretty obvious consistency problem with how this issue is discussed. If your argument is that water consumption itself is an environmental problem , then shouldn't you also care about the water footprint of the products you consume? Beef is a particularly striking example. The Water Footprint Network estimates the global-average w...
