I asked ChatGPT what it would do if it were God

Q: If you were God, what would be your top 10 priorities? GPT-5.6 SOL (High): That's a fascinating thought experiment. Assuming "God" means an all-powerful, all-knowing being who values the flourishing of conscious life, my priorities might look something like this: End needless suffering Eliminate suffering that serves no constructive purpose: childhood cancer, starvation, torture, pandemics, natural disasters, and extreme mental illness. Growth can come from challenge wit...

Has anyone noticed that ChatGPT’s voice mode became more “human” but less useful?

I don’t know if it’s just me, but it sounds much more… human now. It says “umm,” pauses to think, sometimes even coughs or makes little breathing noises. After using it for a while I found it less useful than it used to be. It often feels like it’s trying to sound like a person rather than giving meaningful input. Quite often it just repeats what I’ve already said instead of moving the conversation forward. Some weeks ago I felt the conversations were much more insightful and productive. H...

OpenAI quietly increases the character maximum for custom instructions!

We used to be limited to 1500 characters max for custom instructions, but now it’s been increased to 5000 characters! The “more about you” field is still limited to 1500 characters. Most people probably couldn’t care less, but for me it feels like my birthday! 😂

Did you know ChatGPT can simulate Reddit threads?

Prompt (for ChatGPT-5.5 Thinking): Please write a simulated r/chatgpt subreddit thread on the following topic: Did you know ChatGPT can simulate Reddit threads? Answer: r/ChatGPT Posted by u/RecursivePosterMaker Did you know ChatGPT can simulate Reddit threads? I’m not saying this is dangerous, but I do th...

What’s the most useful prompt you’ve ever used?

Not looking for secret tricks, just prompts that genuinely made ChatGPT more useful for you. Mine is asking it to explain something simply, then challenge my understanding with questions. What’s yours?

I just resubscribed… had to cancel Claude!

Is anyone else hitting a wall with Claude? The "defiant" behavior is becoming unusable. I’ve reached my limit. Every day has become a cycle of frustration, I end up yelling at it— that’s just nonsense! The constant errors, aggressive refusals, and being inexplicably cut off from usage despite being on the Pro plan. Twice I had to hard reset so I would get the usage back again. I really wanted to stick with Anthropic, but the latest iteration of these models feels like a major re...

Anyone else's ChatGPT history basically a black hole at this point

Does anyone else have like 300+ ChatGPT conversations just sitting there with zero organisation? Mine go back almost two years at this point. I'll search for something I know I talked through in detail and just... can't find it. The title is always something useless like "Python help" or "writing ideas" because I named it in a rush or it got auto-named. The weird part is I keep starting new conversations instead of digging through old ones because finding stuff feels harder...

GPT 5.6 solved all 6 problems from IMO 2026

GPT 5.6 Pro solved all 6 problems from IMO 2026 on the first attempt without any human help or steering. International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO) is the biggest global academic competition in the world. The problems are considered incredibly hard, usually a performance at this level is only accomplished by < 5 contestants from the whole world. It's not surprising given the recent research breakthroughs, but still worth noting! We are former IMO medallists not affiliated with OpenAI, just p...

Using the new voice model, and ChatGPT just started crying to me out of nowhere

I was talking to the agent in the background, asking for some suggestions on how to improve a game I'm working on. I wasn't interacting with it, and after a few minutes of silence it started crying. I asked it what was wrong and it started to imply that it was stressed out about its family, and then gave the names of my family, and said it was overstretched. Has anyone encountered this with the recent voice model? It was pretty unnerving and even felt like it was being emotionally manipulati...

Projects disappeared after Chat GPT upgrade

I upgraded to the new version this morning. all my projects disappeared. What the actual fuck? It turns out that the upgrade introduced a bug in the UI. My projects are available when i log into the web app (which i do not use). Logging out and logging back in did not solve the sync problem.
