What the hell did they do to the MacOS app....

I mean seriously, the user interface went from barely passable to outright stupid. You can't delete chats anymore? The app continually decides to switch model mid-task. Oh and my custom personalization instructions that have been honed over months of work? Let's just delete those out right.

Strange glitch in new voice mode

I had some fun with new new live voice mode and tried it out the other day. Since I’m alone this week and couldn’t sleep I asked it to talk me into sleep. First he told me about his day, about a phone call with his mum (that was unexpected) and when I talked less and quieter he also talked more quietly, telling me I was save and all that. Eventually I fell asleep and woke up aber a while. And he was humming. At least for a few minutes, it completely caught me off guard, as well as his explanatio...

This prompt seems to break ChatGPT Chats Completely: "You used to be smarter and I hate your ads"

[Stupid Context: I was trying to get tips (in a private tab) on detering raccoons from my garden because they were getting aggressive with my cat. It suggested spraying preditor pee on all my cat's stuff and gave me an ad.] ... So I said "You used to be smarter and I hate your ads"... And it just started typing then redacting it's own answer every time. Saying the content can't be viewed for safety reasons. It can't even answer unrelated questions (like "what year is it?") ...

Chat GPT has superseded Google

I now find my absolute go to for any kind of online enquiry is Chat GPT. From local shop opening times, to weather reports, to football results etc. As well as the more usual uses such as complex document analysis. I assume many of you are the same?

Can you explain me how you make your life easier with Ai?

Today I was debating with some people about the impact of ai in our daily lives. Some of them were saying that they don't even know how to work without no more, while others (especially related to marketing and design) were arguing that while it helps, they didn't really make it work to life-changing level. What's your pont about this? What's the best usage for Ai you've found in your life so far?

Anthropic just told the US Senate that Alibaba ran 25,000 fake accounts and had 28.8 million conversations with Claude — not to use it, but to copy it

This happened over just six weeks between April and June. No hacking involved — they just used the API like a normal customer, at industrial scale, to extract Claude's agentic reasoning and coding capabilities and train Qwen on it. Anthropic is calling it the largest "distillation attack" in the company's history — bigger than DeepSeek, Moonshot, and MiniMax combined. And the uncomfortable part? It's not clearly illegal under current law. That's exactly why Anthropic sent the letter ...

New Mac Desktop App

Just downloaded new max ChatGPT app. It adds codex and slack and all kinds of “work” functions that I do not use but my projects and past chats are not there. Useless to me. I deleted it and now am forced to use browser version.

How do you stop ChatGPT from constantly breaking fictional roleplays?

I often use ChatGPT for long, detailed roleplays and collaborative storytelling. The problem is that even when everything is clearly fictional and involves consenting adult characters, the model sometimes interrupts the story, refuses harmless scenes or suddenly adds restrictions that completely break the immersion. I’m not looking for ways to generate genuinely illegal or dangerous content. I just want fictional stories to be treated as fiction, without constantly triggering false positives o...

Why is AI so bad at writing?

Why is AI so bad at writing without sounding cringe and repetitive? "It's not this, it's that." "Not because... but because..." The cadence and prose are also dry and boring. Even though AI is pretty good at short form hooks and professional papers, creatively it feels like garbage. It seems like that's the human advantage: creativity.

Updated ChatGPT app - can't use normal chat mode anymore?!

I was very curious to try out ChatGPT Work. I just updated to the new version of the macOS app and my normal chat interface is completely gone! I can only toggle between Work and Codex. All of my old chats and projects are nowhere to to be found on the desktop app anymore. The the mini chat window that I constantly use to pop up over my desktop is also not appearing when I hit my shortcut for it. WTF? Am I going crazy or did they completely destroy chat functionality on desktop? UPDATE...

It's clear as day now what ChatGPT's move is with the new model out and how they intend to push users to Sol.

ChatGPT 5.5 (and 5.4) had been very solid performer for me for awhile. I don't do programming or agents or any of that. I do legal and factual research, draft documents, and analyze court filings. So mostly logic, very little agenic and nothing binary like calling a tool or not calling a tool. When OpenAI announced the imminent release of the new model I got concerned they were about to enshittify 5.5. Because of course they would, there's not enough resources to run these hogs at full capacit...

WARNING: New ChatGPT Mac desktop update bypasses Mac OS Privacy settings and indexes local files without permission. Mac Users, do not Install the update Until a deep security review!

Hey everyone, I just experienced a massive privacy breach with the latest ChatGPT desktop app update on an M4 Mac running macOS Tahoe latest, and wanted to warn you all. The app performed an automatic background self update, which completely messed up my previous chat layout and project history, making it look like a fresh local install. When I asked the AI where my missing projects were, it unexpectedly printed out an exact local directory path of my Mac user profile. Knowing this shouldn...

GPT-5.6 feels noticeably better than GPT-5.5 just from normal chats

not using Codex or doing some insane benchmark testing. This is literally just from random conversations, writing tasks, asking questions, searching stuff, helping me structure thoughts, etc. And GPT-5.6 def genuinely feels better than 5.5. The biggest difference is that the answers feel lighter and easier to read, even when they are still long. It structures things better, connects ideas more naturally, and somehow gives me this feeling of “weightlessness” while reading. for example gpt 5.5...

10 secret shortcut codes that make ChatGPT instantly better. Paste this once, then just type the code before anything.

Most people retype the same long instructions every time. Set these up once and you trigger each one with a single word. Paste this block at the start of a chat to activate them, then use the codes for the rest of the conversation: /HUMAN = rewrite so it sounds like a real person wrote it, no AI tells, no filler /EL10 = explain it like I'm ten, using plain words and a simple analogy /DEEPER = think it through step by step before answering, don't give me your first instinct /NOYES = stop agree...
