Connecting AI to Existing Applications: A Practical Integration Approach

Adding an AI model to an application can look simple from the outside. Send a prompt, receive a response, and display the result. In a real application, however, the model is only one part of the system. Developers also need to think about authentication, APIs, data access, error handling, latency, monitoring, and what happens when the model produces an unexpected response. The interesting engineering problem is not simply how to call an AI model . It is how to connect that model to an...

A Developer's System for Finding Framer & Webflow Clients"

If you can ship a clean Framer or Webflow site, you're already ahead of most people on the "can build" side. The part that trips developers up is getting found by the right clients. Here's a system that treats client acquisition like an engineering problem: define inputs, run experiments, measure. Define your spec (positioning) Write one sentence: who you help, what outcome you deliver, how fast, and proof. "I build editable Framer marketing sites for seed-stage SaaS teams, typically live i...

Jalali Dates in Modern PHP: Building ParsiDate β€” Immutable, Zero-Dependency, with Holidays Built In

If you build software for 85+ million Persian speakers, you need Jalali (Solar Hijri) dates. And if you do it in PHP, you've probably met the usual suspects: libraries built a decade ago, strftime() calls that PHP 8.1 deprecated, mutable date objects that cause spooky action-at-a-distance in queue workers, and holiday lists you have to maintain by hand. I built ParsiDate to fix that for my own projects. It's now at v1.1.0, MIT licensed, with 136 passing tests: composer require mah...

The Future of Web Development Isn’t No-Code, It’s AI-Augmented Code

For years, the web development industry has been framed as a choice between two extremes: write code from scratch or avoid code altogether with no-code tools. But that distinction is becoming less useful. AI is creating a third approach where developers still write, review, test, and own the code, while AI handles much of the repetitive work around it. A developer can describe a feature in plain language, generate a first implementation, inspect the logic, ask AI to refactor it, run tests, f...

How to Build a Network-Aware Stablecoin Payment Integration

The first version of a stablecoin checkout often looks perfectly reasonable. You support USDT, so you define the networks your application accepts: const supportedNetworks = { USDT : [ " Ethereum " , " Tron " , " BSC " ] }; The frontend uses that list to populate a selector, the backend uses the selected value to create a payment, and everything works. Until the assumptions behind that array stop being true. A network may be added or remo...

Build a members-only video library in Python: private media, RS256 playback tokens, and tokenized thumbnails

TL;DR We'll build the backend for a members-only video library: upload assets as private, create an RSA signing key, mint a short-lived JWT per viewer in a FastAPI endpoint, and hand the player a stream URL plus a thumbnail URL that both carry the token. Then we'll prove the thumbnail is locked too, because that's the one everybody forgets. The naive version of a paywalled video library is: check the session, render a player, done. The .m3u8 URL in that player is public. Anyone who co...

Email Self Hosters - what are you using?

At the moment I self host using maddy for a bunch of domains that need a mailbox or catch all. There are some minor issues with it - some are me, some are who knows. The biggest bug bear is that the native email client on iOS takes an age to connect and download messages which causes some issues with OTP emails. So for those out there that do host their own email - what are you running, what would you change?

Comparison of MonoLisa vs. JetBrains Mono

JetBrains Mono fits the same code into a narrower line, while MonoLisa gives its rounded letters more horizontal space. Below, we compare those proportions, operator shapes, italic letterforms, and terminal symbols. Reading texture JetBrains Mono combines tall lowercase letters with a narrower character width than MonoLisa in this sample. The first parseToken line ends earlier in its panel; the o in MonoLisa's offset also shows the rounder curves enlarged below. ...

Open-Source AI Agent Framework on GitHub Actions

I run an agent that writes me a morning brief before I'm out of bed. It tracks the repos I care about and stays quiet on slow days. It pays for the web searches it needs out of its own wallet. It does all of this on a schedule, in GitHub Actions, on my own copy of the aeon public repo. No server. No always-on laptop. No SaaS dashboard charging me by the seat. This post kicked off a series on why that's possible, and where aeon does things other AI agent frameworks can't - or won't. The ser...

The four-line diff that charges your customers twice

Here's a change any of us could approve tomorrow. Checkout fails when the bank is slow, so you ask your agent to retry. It wraps the charge call in a retry: three attempts, on timeout. Tests pass. The diff is four lines. You approve it. Now one question. If the bank already took the money and only the response timed out, what does the retry do? It charges the customer again. Nothing in those four lines makes the second attempt the same charge as the first. The code was easy to read, ...

I Rebuilt My Developer Portfolio Around the Work, Not the Tech Stack

I recently gave my developer portfolio a major update. I’m still iterating on it and improving things as I go, but I thought I’d share it now and get some feedback from others. πŸ‘‰ Portfolio: https://keshavkjha.com After 7+ years of building software, I realized my old way of presenting myself had a problem. Like many developer portfolios, it was easy to focus on things like: React. Go. Python. Node.js. PostgreSQL. Kubernetes. AWS. Docker. Those things matter. But they do...

The Real Post-Mortem: Serving Open LLMs on AWS (SageMaker vLLM vs. Bedrock Custom Models)

Running an open-source LLM on AWS sounds straightforward at first. Pick a model, deploy it, send requests, and you're done. But once you start thinking about production, things become more complicated. Where should the model run? Who manages the GPUs? How much control do you actually need? What happens when traffic increases? Two approaches that caught my attention are Amazon SageMaker with vLLM and Amazon Bedrock with custom or supported models . Both can be useful, but they solve the pro...

How to Practise Java Daily: A Simple Routine for Students?

Most students who struggle with Java don’t lack ability. They lack a routine. They watch a long tutorial on Sunday, feel productive, and then can’t write a loop from memory on Wednesday. Java rewards the opposite pattern: short, repeated, hands-on sessions where you type code yourself, break it, and fix it. Here is a daily routine simple enough to survive a college timetable. Why Daily Practice Beats Weekend Marathons Programming skill builds cumulatively, and retention fades quickly without...

Your control arm is a probe too

A few days ago I wrote up a test that passed on Windows and failed on Linux, and one of its three lessons was: give every negative probe a control arm. A probe that asserts "nothing is listening on this port" cannot, on its own, tell "the listener is gone" from "I built the probe wrong" β€” so you stand up a second listener you know is running, and check the probe reports it . That advice is right. It is also not enough, and I know because my control arm lied to me. This is the follow-up: t...
