Codex vs Claude Code: Same One-Shot Prompt, Two Websites
TL;DR: I wrote one detailed prompt, gave the exact same prompt to ChatGPT Codex and Claude Code in VS Code, and let each build a shop website in one shot. No planning step, no follow-up fixes to the design. Codex finished first but its preview didn't open at first. Claude took longer and gave me a more interactive site with more images. I liked Claude's version more, so I'm continuing with it.
Why I ran this
A website from an agency or freelancer can easily cost hundreds or thou...

Why Your og:image Works in the Browser but Not for Crawlers: Relative Paths, Redirects and Wrong Content-Types
There is a special kind of frustration reserved for the image that works. You open https://yoursite.com/og/launch.png in a tab, it loads instantly, it looks great. You paste the page into LinkedIn and get a headline, a domain, and no picture.
Most write-ups about broken link previews stop at "make sure og:image is set". This post is about the next layer: the tag is set, the file exists, and the crawler still can't use it. Almost every case I've debugged comes down to one of six URL-level ...

Firefox about:config: The Power User Settings Guide
Firefox's about:config page is a direct interface to the browser's preference system — hundreds of settings not exposed in the regular UI. Here's a practical guide for power users.
Opening about:config
Type about:config in the address bar. Firefox shows a warning about voiding your warranty (click "Accept the Risk and Continue"). You're now in the preference editor.
Use the search bar at the top to filter preferences. You can add, modify, or reset any preference.

Add a Link Preview Smoke Test to Your Deploy Pipeline (Node Script + GitHub Actions)
We test our APIs, our components, and sometimes our CSS. Then a release goes out, marketing drops the new page into a Slack channel and a LinkedIn post, and the card shows last month's image with a title that ends in "| Home".
Link previews break silently. No error page, no failed request in your logs, nothing in Sentry. The first signal is usually a screenshot from someone outside the team. So I started treating the share card like any other contract and testing it after deploy.

Firefox Security Settings: What They Do and How to Harden Them
Firefox ships with robust security defaults, but understanding them helps you make informed decisions about what to keep, what to change, and what to add.
What Firefox Protects by Default
HTTPS-First Mode (Firefox 83+)
Firefox now tries HTTPS first for every connection. When you type a domain without specifying http://, Firefox upgrades to HTTPS automatically. If the site doesn't support HTTPS, Firefox falls back to HTTP with a visual indicator in the address bar.

I built a page where one voice message stays featured until someone pays to replace it
Disclosure first: Last Word is my own project. I am posting it here for feedback, not as a neutral recommendation.
The idea
Last Word is a small experiment: a public page that always plays exactly one voice message, up to 45 seconds long.
Anyone can listen, no account needed.
To take the spot you pay. On the main "World" page the first message costs $1, and every replacement doubles the price: $1, $2, $4, $8...

Firefox Multi-Account Containers: Advanced Use Cases
Firefox Multi-Account Containers are one of the browser's most powerful privacy features. Most users know the basics — here's what you can do with them beyond the defaults.
Quick Refresher
Multi-Account Containers isolate websites into separate "containers." Each container has its own cookies, localStorage, IndexedDB, and cache. A site in Container A can't see cookies from Container B.
Think of each container as a separate browser profile, but all within the same Firefox windo...

I gave two Claude Code sessions a PM and an engineer job. My job was to watch
Since August, Claude Code sessions can talk to each other. The feature is called cross-session messaging and arrived in v2.1.224: a session finds your other sessions with ListAgents and sends one of them a message with SendMessage . What travels is only the text Claude writes for the other session, never the conversation history or files.
I've been using it to build rind-ui, a headless UI component library, with two sessions that have different jobs. One is the PM. The other is the engin...

Firefox for Android: Extensions, Sync, and Privacy Settings
Firefox for Android is a full-featured browser with one key differentiator: it supports extensions. Here's how to get the most out of it.
Extensions on Firefox Android
Unlike Chrome/Chromium-based Android browsers, Firefox runs real desktop extensions on Android (as of Firefox 79+ with the rebuilt Fenix engine).
To install extensions: tap the three-dot menu → Add-ons → Browse all Firefox extensions.

How to Deal With Tab Overload: A Practical System
You have 87 tabs open. Three of them matter right now. The rest are "I'll read this later" tabs that have been open for two weeks.
Sound familiar? Let's fix this.
Why Tab Hoarding Happens
It's a productivity psychology thing. Closing a tab feels like losing information. Opening a tab feels like handling it. So tabs accumulate — links you'll read, reference pages, half-finished research, "maybe later" articles.
The actual cost: mental overhead. Every open tab is a small remi...

Agent identities are the new service accounts
Part of my job is running access reviews. Human accounts are the easy part: there is an HR system, a manager, a leaver process. The hard part has always been the service accounts, and AI agents have made that part bigger.
An agent does not act with its own authority. It acts with whatever identity it was given. In practice that is an Entra app registration or service principal, a managed identity, an AWS IAM role or an access key, a GitHub App installation or a deploy key. These are the servi...

Making open-source text to speech sound right: ranked voices, text normalization and one engine for Python and the browser
Open text-to-speech models have become small and fast enough to run anywhere. Piper voices run faster than real time on a laptop CPU. But when we built the text-to-speech tool on Loudness.ai, three problems stood between "it runs" and "it sounds right". loudness-tts is what we built to solve them, and it is free and open source.
1. Which voice?
Piper has more than 170 voice files, some with hundreds of speakers. Their quality varies a lot, and many are licensed for non-commercial...
