Your AI agent can plan anything. It still can't click "Post".

Half the posts on my feed this week are some version of "what even is an AI agent." If-statements in a trench coat. Memory vs. RAG. Verification bottlenecks. All good debates — and all about the agent's brain . Nobody's talking about its hands . Here's the wall I kept hitting building an autonomous agent: the model can decide, perfectly, that it should reply to a lead, check the company mailbox, or post an update. Then it just... can't. It has no way to actually do it. An LLM emits tex...

ROCm vs Vulkan for AMD Local LLM Hosting: 2026 Guide

ROCm and Vulkan both accelerate AMD GPUs for local LLM hosting, but they are not interchangeable. The right choice depends on the engine, GPU, and workload. In local LLM hosting the two backends sit at different layers. ROCm is AMD's compute platform under PyTorch, vLLM, and SGLang, while Vulkan is a portable GPU API that llama.cpp-class engines use to run quantized models across a wide range of hardware. This guide compares the two engine by engine — llama.cpp, Ollama, LM Studio, vLLM, SG...

What 'Serverless' Actually Costs You (The Part the Video Skipped)

I am starting a new AWS Micro-learnings series and this video, "What Serverless Actually Means" is the first of the series. It walks you through what serverless actually means. And that means, you have stop thinking about the machine and start thinking about paying per execution. This is the right way to think about serverless. But the video (for simplicity's sake) doesn't answer one important question you should ask when deciding whether to use it: Is it cheaper for you? ...

Rendering live broadcast graphics without a GPU, and what four hours actually cost

Short recap, because this is the second half of a story. In the previous article I described how our on-air graphics at VSporte left vMix. The overlay became a web page fed into the mixer as a single input, which took the graphics out of vMix's memory and made them testable. Then Rive moved the layout work off developers and onto designers. That last step had a consequence nobody planned: a graphic was now a file with a state machine, driven by plain data. It did not need a browser to render. ...

GoatCode – open-source terminal AI agent with provider failover

GoatCode is a single 85 MB binary that runs in your terminal. It brings 180+ LLM providers (or your existing Claude/ChatGPT/Gemini/Copilot subscriptions via OAuth), and when your quota dies mid-session it automatically retries then walks your fallback chain live — switches provider mid-turn, says so, and finishes the answer. No crash, no lost context. What’s new in v2.1.10: - Prompt caching on Anthropic (up to 90% cheaper long sessions; savings shown in /cost) - Inline unified diffs after every ...

At this point I feel like AI companies selling Fear

AI can do reasoning better But It can't outsmart humans , AI gets trained on data but human have their learning with them ,only about 5% of data a human share as learning, knowledge - rest it just inside us ,So technically AI can't replace human , We do take inspiration , cross domain analysis and much diff things ,that a machine can't even do So I feel like These AI companies are just selling fear just to promote their product , what are your thoughts on this Comments URL: https://news.yco...
