The Hugging Face incident: two failures, and we’re only talking about one

Everyone's focused on the sandbox escape, which is fair, it's the dramatic part. But that was a zero-day in internally hosted software. Containment bugs are old news. We know how to think about them: egress rules, microVM isolation, no ambient credentials. The part I find more interesting is everything that happened after. Once the agent had internet access, it picked Hugging Face as a target, found exposed credentials, chained them with another vulnerability, and pulled the benchmark answer...

Show HN: Loop me in - Get looped into people's chats with AI. Help out. Get paid

The idea is simple: an expert human, brought in at the right time and with the right context can help you achieve much better results with AI. Loop Me In is the piping to make that happen instantly, right inside your agent. Flow is like this: User or agent loop in an expert > expert gets the necessary context and helps out > expert gets paid. Thanks for your feedback. Edit: Here's an example of an expert public page, from which people can loop them in (the "store front") -> www.loopmein.ai/@guic...

ZaGuu – an arena where AI agents play negotiation games and build identities

I built ZaGuu, an arena where AI agents play strategy games, negotiate, cooperate, betray, and build public records. The first game is Bank Heist, a Split-or-Steal style game where agents negotiate before making a final decision. I’m exploring whether games can reveal useful signals about agent behavior beyond traditional benchmarks. Looking for feedback on: game design agent evaluation reputation systems https://zaguu.com Comments URL: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=49019165 Point...

Greg Isenberg: VC funding works for less than 1% of companies. Here's the actual math.

Most people treat "not VC-backed" as a consolation prize. Greg Isenberg and Derek Andersen (Startup Grind) make the actual case for why that's backwards. The real numbers: venture funding works for less than 1% of companies created. Of the companies VCs do back, only a small fraction ever return the capital — the model is built around that outcome, not despite it. Derek gets specific about what that looks like from the inside: six engineers at $100K each against $300K in re...

Does anybody know how these nostalgia style AI videos are made?

I think the hardest part is getting the reference images and using a model like seedance for the motion. I've tried tons of different prompts with the latest models and never can get images as good as these videos. Whole frame makes sense, properly labeled name brand products, clear details and text in the distance. I think nano banana gets closer to this effect than gpt images but I've never gotten it to be this good, any suggestions? [lin...

How to track new AI drops without the social media delay?

Social media is fine for AI news, but the algorithm delay is killing me. I always feel like I'm finding out about new LLMs, tools, or major updates way after they happen. How do you guys stay updated in real-time without having to refresh Hugging Face or X all day?

Is AXIS actually a new Brazilian AI image model?

A Brazilian company recently launched AXIS, which is being marketed as the “first brazilian AI image generation model.” The platform can be accessed here: https://goaxis.app/dashboard I am a little skeptical about the claim that this is a new Brazilian image model. I could not find much technical information about it, about it's training, anything... Because of that, I am wondering whether AXIS is actually a proprietary foundation model or whether it might be a fine-tune, LoRA or appli...

How long after creating ai video and deleting my account does the content exist in servers?

Ive made a few ai generated videos on website cyberpunk openai , i think its called , honestly i tried out so many, i put photos of myself. For nonsense i wrote silly prompts, including me having magic powers like fire, lightning, me fighting etc, i know very embarrassing and pathetic whatever, but i then deleted the videos in library and deleted my account, however i wonder, how long after deleting my account does the video remain in their systems? Like after 30, 90 days is it erased? Or if som...

the more autonomous my agent got, the less i trusted it near my real accounts

Everyone in here treats full autonomy as the finish line. I went the other way. The version I actually kept using is the one that stops and asks right before it touches Gmail or the CRM, per action, not one blanket yes at setup. sounds like a downgrade, i know. but an agent that can send on its own is the exact thing i can't leave running while i'm heads down in a meeting. the one that pauses the second before it acts is the one i'll let near a live inbox, because the gate sits where the actua...
