What should people learn today to stay relevant in an AI-driven future?

With AI advancing so quickly, I'm trying to understand how to prepare for the next 5–10 years. A few questions I'd love to hear your thoughts on: What skills should people focus on learning now to stay relevant alongside AI? Beyond prompting, what are the most valuable AI-related skills (automation, coding, workflows, AI agents, etc.)? Which jobs or industries are likely to benefit the most, and which are at the highest risk? Do you think AI will become expensive to use in the future? ...

Show HN: Design Patterns for AI

Design Patterns by Gang of Four is one of my favorite books. It was well structured and easy to read and reference. I remember when copied each pattern manually to learn them and reference into a pattern repo in Java. A couple weekends ago I felt inspired and I've build a research ingestion pipeline that uses AI to filter Arxiv for better quality research and filtered the best ideas that repeat into a sort of executive summary or ethos document. This document now guides all software projects I b...

Openai is trash

I don't know when it started, but anytime you ask openai to create some kind of content, whether it be code or even just materials, it goes off on a token-wasting side quest refusing to just begin the task you've given it. This morning, I did a small test with openai, DeepSeek, and Claude. Both DeepSeek and Claude began and finished the task easily. Openai, on the other hand, went on one of it's side quests, asking and repeating the same trash it always does now. It's a token wasting strategy...

Sam Altman personally replied to an open source dev tool project — and most people missed it

Was digging through Sam Altman's replies and found this — back in May he responded directly to GitLawb, the team building git infrastructure for AI agents. They'd tweeted that if he replied, they'd make GPT-5.5 the default model and Codex the default provider for their platform (which even then had 25.7K GitHub stars, 8.3K forks, 116K downloads). Altman replied "cool thanks!" — the post has 369K views now. The OpenAI CEO doesn't hand out replies. His timeline is almost entirely res...

Looking for Feedback on a Tool That Generates Personalized ChatGPT Custom Instructions

I’m building a prototype of a tool that interviews you and generates personalized ChatGPT custom instructions. This is v1. I’m looking for people willing to spend a few minutes trying it and then giving me honest feedback. The main question I’m trying to answer is simple: Does the generated customization actually make ChatGPT noticeably more useful for you? After adding the generated customization, you should notice responses that feel more tailored to you—for example, ChatGPT should bet...

How I Book 12 Web Design Meetings A Week With This Cold Email Strategy

There are a lot of web agencies doing email automation to land web design projects. They keep testing new email sequences every week, adding more follow ups, changing subject lines, and trying everything they can to increase their reply rate, but a lot of them still struggle. I was in the exact same position until I completely changed my strategy. The biggest change wasn't the sequence itself, it was the way I approached outreach. Instead of sending generic emails talking about my agency or as...

Why tf is Deep Research giving me more vague answers than a normal search? Or am I doing it wrong?

I’m trying to use Deep Research for a very large market research project, but I’m not sure if I’m using it the right way because the results aren’t turning out as expected. My project is a comprehensive market research document for a skincare brand. I first created a master research document that contains every section I want researched (market analysis, competitors, consumer insights, manufacturing, regulations, retailers, pricing, trends, ingredients, etc.). This master document acts as th...
