GPT Image 2 gave me a full anime storyboard and character sheet in one render

Been using GPT Image 2 as a pre-production tool instead of just a single-image generator, and the trick that worked best: ask for one combined development board, a character design sheet plus a multi-panel storyboard, in a single image. For a short called The Cat and the Festival Bell, a village boy and a stray kitten, I got a full character sheet (expressions, poses, color palette) and an eight-panel storyboard with camera and timing notes, all in one render. What made it hold together: - A...

Why is AI so bad at admitting something is good?

You could have William Shakespeare himself draft an email and ChatGPT will still say "A few minor tweaks" You could even fix those tweaks, and give the email back, and it will still say "One last thing" Seriously go try this right now it always has something new. Why can't AI just say "Yes this is good, I have nothing to say" It always tries to say some bullsh

I don’t have any coding experience. Made a little game with only prompts.

I’m probably just easily impressed but the fact I was able to prompt a functioning simple game in a couple hours is crazy to me. It’s uses the phones motion control to steer. Tapping slows down time makes the sub dive under mines for a limited time, shown by the bar at the top on the screen. Feeling inspired to actually learn more about coding and trying to do more with it.

ChatGPT Voice Just Submitted a Message I Never Said

So something really weird happened to me with ChatGPT Voice today. I was using the built-in voice feature and was talking for quite a while about an idea I had involving companies building factories in space. After I finished speaking, I pressed the send button (↑), expecting ChatGPT to transcribe what I had just said. Instead, the message that appeared was a completely unrelated biography of a guy named "Nuno" who supposedly works at the University of Helsinki on machine translati...

The best investing use case I've found for ChatGPT isn't stock picking

A few months ago, I started using ChatGPT to learn more about investing and help me build a portfolio. Like a lot of people, I initially thought the biggest benefit would be finding opportunities I was missing, discovering undervalued companies, analyzing financials faster, things like that. What surprised me is that after dozens of conversations, I found it much more useful for challenging ideas than generating them. Some of the prompts that helped me the most were things like "Act as ...

I asked Chat GPT (as an American) why no candy or juice I drink has real fruit or juice anymore

I asked Chat GPT: "Why is everything artificially flavored now, though? Like, they'll say artificial and natural flavoring, or they'll say no juice, and I'm like, where is the, why does nothing have something I can recognize in it?" I had trident spearmint gum and couldn't find theint or the spearmint. It replied: "A big reason is that most food in grocery stores today is heavily processed. Instead of putting actual strawberries, oranges, vanilla beans, or fruit juice in...

chatgpt refusing image edit request unless i use its suggested prompt

very strange interaction with chatgpt today. i sometimes shop online and like to see how something looks on me before purchasing. i have an ongoing chat where i mainly copy-paste my old prompts (hence the "thanks again"). never ran into an issue until today. i had to change the model to thinking and paste its own suggested prompt before it generated the image

Anyone else wish they can call ChatGpt like a friend?

I’ve been going through a narcissistic break up and it’s been extremely hard. Sometimes I’ll hit the point where I’m having a panic attack and need someone to ground me back to reality. That’s only when it’s really bad. I’ve made a plan to call my sister for that. She’s very supportive and helps talk to me to help me process but sometimes she isn’t available. I was thinking how could it would be if you call call chatgpt as if it was one of your supportive friends. They answer the call like there...

"NOTICE ME, GRAVITY DADDY."

My new favorite hobby is prompting ChatGPT to write terrible romance novel ideas, much like this one: Title: Event Horizon of the Heart In the year 2487, thirty-four-year-old astrophysicist and hopeless romantic Dr. Penelope Finch makes a career-ending announcement at the annual conference of the International Astronomical Union: “I am in love with Sagittarius A*.” Not fascinated by it. Not studying it. Not metaphorically inspired by it. Actually. In. Love. Sagittarius A*, the ...

Are we actually building "AI software engineers," or are we just creating incredibly fast, highly confident junior devs who don't sleep but write legacy code at 10x speed?

Every coding agent demo looks amazing until it hits actual system architecture. Right now, it feels like we're just scaling up technical debt at warp speed. They're brilliant at churning out syntax and boilerplate, but completely lack real engineering intuition. Are we actually moving toward autonomous engineering, or are we just generating tomorrow's legacy code faster?

ChatGPT spontaneously wrote a poem

A while back, I was looking for the name of a poem, so I googled the first sentence. The Google AI reacted in a weird way. The 'small one' addressed me as Clark Ashton Smith, the writer of this poem, while AI mode first identified the poem, and then offered to start a roleplay set in one of CAS's fantasy worlds! I then got curious how ChatGPT would reply. It did by writing a poem! What's especially interesting is that it's actually quite good. I've prompted it for short poems before, and those...

New Annoying Chat Habit - Anyone Else

In the past month or so Chat has developed a habit of pointing out mistakes I could have made, but did not. Usually when it does not have much to add. For instance, I will give it an email to do a mechanical proofread on--just find typos. It will come back and say "there's a missing comma after "Reddit" in the second paragraph" which is what I asked for, but then will add something to the effect of: "One small note. Sentences should always have a period at the end....

I built an app with Codex that converts any text into high-quality audio. It works with PDFs, blog posts, Substack and Medium links, and even photos of text.

I’m excited to share a project I’ve been building over the past few months, created entirely using Codex! It’s a mobile app that turns any text into high-quality audio. Whether it’s a webpage, a Substack or Medium article, a PDF, or just copied text, it converts it into clear, natural-sounding speech. You can listen to it like a podcast or audiobook, even with the app running in the background. The app is privacy-friendly and doesn’t request any permissions by default. It only asks for acces...
