Finished my Software, how can I advertise

So I basically launched my SaaS and now I am wondering: how are people actually advertising these? I know there is platforms like tiktok where I can make videos about it, but is there any way to advertise for free?

Success / Failure percentage

Every week I receive emails from indie hackers with success stories which are very motivational but somehow make you feel very small compared to them. I always think about how many SaaS don't even get registered users or, if they get users, how many of them never get the first subscription payment. Then there is another group where I'm now, the ones with new users every day but just a few subscribers. And then the group with the ones who can live from their SaaS. What's that percentage, 10%,...

Trying to grow my little SaaS reinvesting all profit, but not sure if thinking straight - This is my strategy

For a very long time, I have tried every possible way to distribute my SaaS to my users via numerous channels. Many methods failed, many worked, and I am still continuing with some. Last week I had my first high ticket conversion that really motivated me and now I'm thinking of strategy which everyone follows is reinvesting a good portion everytime. I'll not be putting the whole money but around 60% of profit to be on safe side, and starting out with Google Ads, kinda like performance market...

How can a developer find early-stage SaaS products to contribute to and build real case studies?

I am a full-stack/product engineer and I am trying to build a portfolio based on real SaaS problems rather than creating more fictional side projects. What I would ideally like to do is work with a few early-stage SaaS products that already have users and contribute to something meaningful maybe a feature that's been sitting in the backlog, an AI integration, or a workflow that needs to be built. My goal is to eventually document the experience as a case study: Before → Problem → What was ...

Free Trials are dead in the AI era

The math just doesn’t work out. Free tier users cost increased 10-100x because of inference cost. If your free tier uses LLMs and you pay the API costs, the math is horrendous: An average free user with 10-12 sessions a month and costs you around $2.80 per month. Heavy free users probably cost 10x. And even if 5% of users convert at $20-50/mo that just doesn’t work out. Potential fixes but none is optimal: Give free users cheaper models (but now you're demoing a dumber product). Credits,...

$1m in revenue, 1 person, 1 year & 0 VC money

AI made it possible for one person to build Maggi AI to $1M ARR in 12 months. Yet, It also made every advantage more fragile. I built the company without VC funding or a large team. One person, building inside an industry that refuses to stand still. From the outside, $1M ARR looks like validation. for me, this raises a harder question: What is an advantage worth when the underlying AI models keep improving and new competitors keep appearing? The honest answer is: not much, unless y...

Ok so it finally happened and I got my first SAAAAALE! But there is one funny and one weird part... The funny thing is that the very first user who signed up - deleted his account 😅😅 Now for the weird one - my SEO is not that great yet, In total I had 11 clicks(screenshot shows 12, but 1 of then is from me) and these 11 clicks generated 2 sign ups, from which as I said one user deleted his account but other.... Placed an order of roughly 200€! And thats a subscription 🤯! I haven't had suc...

Launched on Product Hunt. Got comments, zero site visits, zero signups. Here's what I got wrong.

I built something that automatically updates clients on where their case stands, so attorneys stop getting a dozen "any update?" calls and emails every week. Took 30 days to build it, mostly nights and weekends. Finally shipped it and put it on Product Hunt, honestly expecting at least a handful of signups out of it. Got some nice comments, a few upvotes, felt pretty good in the moment. Checked the numbers the next morning and nobody had actually visited the site. Zero signups. I t...

Where should I publish the app?

Hello there, fellow Reddit users. I’ve been developing a fitness app for the past month, and it’s nearly ready, but I have a major question on my mind: should I launch it as a website first, or publish it as an app on the Play Store or App Store? I’d love to hear your thoughts.

Any recommendations for SEO agencies for SaaS projects?

Hey everyone, I’m project manager at a growing B2B SaaS company and want to invest more seriously in SEO over the next couple of quarters. Until now my team handled most things in-house or used help from freelances. I feel we’ve reached the point where we need a team that can own the strategy, technical SEO and content as well. Usually the same names come up. SeoProfy WebFX Victorious Coalition Technologies OuterBox Thrive Internet Marketing. From what I've found, the first one...

How would you value a declining but profitable no-code SaaS?

Looking for honest input on valuation before I list this for sale. Numbers: MRR: ~$15K, declining (was higher a year ago) Trailing 12 months revenue: ~$327K Last 3 months revenue: ~$67K Profit margin: 40-50% Roughly 30-40% of the revenue came from one-time/lifetime deals; the rest is recurring 1,000+ active subscribers, all word of mouth + SEO acquisition. Runs with a small team (1 dev, 2 support) The decline is mainly because we shifted focus and budget to a different prod...

I don’t know if my situation is good or bad ? What is your advice

I really don't know if I'm in a good situation or not. My app went live 4 months ago and I'm trying to figure out if this is normal. I feel like compared to the previous period, there are barely any downloads now. I'm 10K in debt and I have to pay it off and be done with it. I don't know if I should invest in the app so it can cover the debt (I haven't put money into the app, I only market it organically and just pay for monthly tool subscriptions). How and what would you recommend doing? I feel...

YOLO’d 4 months of my life into an email validator. 0 customers. $0 revenue. Not leaving.

Big news folks, I just launched my first product. No customers. No money. No “PMF.” No fake MRR screenshot. No “just hit $0 ARR ask me how.” The only transaction I've had is from myself for a billing flow test. And yes, I refunded it. It’s an email validation tool. Yes, those already exist. Yes, bigger ones exist. Yes, mine is not going to “disrupt the $47B deliverability industrial complex.” I built it anyway. Why? Because my team was lighting money on fire paying the big guys f...

Built a 3D home design tool solo, looking for a few testers before I mess it up further

I’ve been building home3dplan.com, a 3D home design builder that lets you sketch floor plans and see them come to life in 3D. The idea is to make it simple enough that you don’t need to be an architect or learn some complicated CAD software just to plan a room layout or a full house. It’s at the point where I need real people poking at it instead of just me clicking around convinced everything works. I’m looking for a handful of testers who can try building something, break stuff, and tell me ...

It has a lot of moving parts but I think it can genuinely be the next big platform for managing communications. I'd love to trade beta testing ser...

Trying to figure out subscription pricing for my SaaS. How do you actually land on a fair number?

Hey all, I'm building a B2B SaaS aimed at early-stage founders (basically a GTM tool for small teams). Still in alpha with a small group of test users, and pricing is honestly the part that's giving me the most trouble before we go live properly. A few things I'm stuck on, would love to hear from people who've actually been through this: How many tiers is enough? Two, three, should there even be a free/freemium option?
