I was at $24K MRR without a SaaS but now I am to build one

So many people say they ditch their daily job to focus on their SaaS after they realize they have a potential. My story is quite different than that. I started working remotely as a contract-based Android dev in a Texas company via a freelance network (I signed NDAs so I can’t name the network or the company). I was charging the intermediary 8K USD per month and god knows how much they were charging the company I work in. Then the company bought me out from the network and asked me to set ...

How did you get your first users for a dev tool? Just launched and feeling a bit lost

Been lurking here for a while. I run a small AI job marketplace and the most annoying part to build was resume parsing, basically getting clean data out of PDFs. I tried just asking an LLM for JSON and in production it was a mess. The keys would come back different between calls, nothing was validated, and I couldn't reproduce results when something broke. Then I realized the same problem hits invoices, contracts, KYC, pretty much any document. So I spent the last couple months building a sma...

Who's building for the real world, not just tech people?

I've been following this subreddit for a long time. Especially since the AI boom, I keep seeing products built for other tech people AI tools, developer tools, marketing tools, startup tools, and so on. It sometimes feels like the old saying about "selling shovels during a gold rush." I'm curious: is anyone here building software for traditional, non-tech businesses? For example, a tire shop, local distributor, wholesaler, manufacturer, accounting office, repair shop, or similar ...

I’m building an AI that suggests income paths based on a person’s skills. What would make you trust or use something like this?

I’ve noticed that most career advice online is either too generic or focused only on traditional jobs. So I’m experimenting with an AI tool that analyzes a person’s skills, interests, and experience and suggests a few realistic income or career paths they can pursue. Before I spend more time building it, I’d love to know: Would you use something like this? What information would you expect it to consider? What would make you trust its recommendations? What’s the biggest problem with existi...

Clients insisting I promised something I never actually said

I sell a B2B service. I'm fairly new to sales itself, though I've been in this industry for over 14 years. People trust me and I have a solid reputation at work. Here's my problem. Every so often, after a client goes live, they'll insist I told them something that just isn't true. I never said it. To be clear, I don't lie. I don't bend the truth or leave things out to make myself look better. I'm honest all the time, no exceptions. My anxiety wouldn't even let me get away with being shady if...

guys i made a tool and earned lots of money

and my SaaS solves a very specific problem. It's like nothing has ever been done before. It's called calculator (dot) com, and it has a 3x3 grid of numbers, 0, mathematical operators, and an equals button. It allows users to calculate a series of mathematical operations in a fast manner. And I made $800K MRR just yesterday, and I'm also only 20 years old. The whole thing was vibe-coded with the free tier of GPT. I coded it overnight. ...

Trying to get users, where should start?

ok so I keep going back and forth on this and want some real opinions, not just "do both lol" every single founder on my feed right now is doing the personal brand thing, twitter threads, "building in public" posts, the whole behind-the-scenes vibe. and I get why, it clearly works for some people. but it also feels like everyone's doing it at once, which makes me wonder if it's actually still effective or if it's just noise at this point. meanwhile nobody really talks abo...

Let's gooo over 100 users in 30min

Hey guys, next milestone is achieved! Over 100 customer in 30 minutes online. Feels great, but still alot to do! This journey never ends. When i started, I had this wrong thesis that you finish your app and its done, no work more to do. But is there a point when you really "finish" your saas? Because I still think I have a lot to improve and lot more to do...

This tiny UX fix (10 mins with cluade code) saved users and our support a lot of frustration

People forget passwords. People forget emails. Sometimes they forget both. 😅 One surprisingly common support request we kept seeing: → The forms I created are not showing up → Showing "Account doesn't exist" error → Which email did I use to sign up? So we added a small UX improvement If you've logged into FormNX before, we'll show the last account used on that device directly on the login screen ✓ Less typing ✓ Less confusion ✓ Faster access It's one of ...

Am I the only one drowning in applications that go nowhere? Tech hiring feels completely broken right now

We just opened two roles, a mid-level data analyst and a customer success manager for our SaaS product, and within 72 hours we had over 400 applications on LinkedIn. Sounds great right? It is not. I spent the better part of last week screening resumes and I swear at least 60-70% of them were clearly AI generated or mass blasted with zero customization. Same generic summary, same bullet structure, same "passionate about leveraging data to drive insights" phrasing copy pasted across co...

Nothing feels better than knowing that something you made has genuinely helped a user 🎉

This is a small app I originally built to solve one of my own problems. I published it on the App Store about two months ago and have done almost no marketing for it. It’s a simple checklist app that helps me deal with those moments when I start doubting my own memory and wondering whether I’ve actually done something. For example, before going to bed, I have a checklist of things I need to verify to make sure everything will be fine while I’m asleep. But as soon as I get into bed, I often s...

ADVICE NEEDED: How many times can someone dispute their claim even after you won the first one? (not promoting)

Need advice from other SaaS owners dealing with repeat chargebacks. Had a customer dispute a charge, I submitted evidence and won. Now he's disputing the same thing again, just under a different reason this time. Guy disputing this has used a ton of AI credits and video exports on the platform the whole time this has been going on. Feels like he can just keep filing with a new reason every time, even after losing once already. Anyone figured out a way to actually shut this down for good, or ...

How did you get your first 10 paying customers?

I launched my app recently on Google Play and Apple Store and I'm trying to figure out the next challenge: getting the first paying customers. For those of you who have built and launched apps, how did you get your first paying users Was it Reddit, social media, SEO, Google Ads, word of mouth, partnerships, or something completely different? First time running paid ads, and half our signups were bots. How are you measuring real signup quality?

We turned on paid ads for the first time and got the signup bump we wanted... plus a wave of garbage. Fake form fills, throwaway emails, accounts that never come back.... So I added reCAPTCHA, and stopped reporting raw signups internally. We switched our north-star to activated signups (someone who returns and does the core action at least once). That cleaned up the dashboard, but it's a lagging fix. What I'm trying to get right is quality at the top of the funnel, before it pollutes the n...

Need Help: AI Agent getting confused & hallucinating in my B2B Meta SaaS (Instagram/Messenger)

Hi everyone, I’m building a SaaS that automates customer service and order creation for Instagram and Messenger merchants. I have a profitable product I built solo with AI in a year. I genuinely don’t know what my skill set is worth. Looking for an honest read.

I’d like an outside, no-bullshit perspective, because there’s so much noise around AI right now that I’ve lost the ability to judge my own situation. Background, kept deliberately vague on the product itself: I spent several years as a product manager on real-estate and e-commerce apps. Product is the thing I actually know scoping, prioritization, what makes something usable, how it ships in a real org with Git, QA, automated tests, CI/CD. That part isn’t new to me. What’s new: for the past ...

We have a few users, but that’s pretty much it. Basically, we could give gold for free inside our app, but if nobody knows the app exists, then we have nothing. Nil. Null. Nada. The app ...
